Do not remove plastic wrap, it is water soluble and helps it last longer. Product doesn't last the 4 weeks as advertised. Toilet used only by my 8 year old lasted 2 weeks only. 2 adults 1 week. It does help keep the toilet clean longer.

For good clean toilet looks follow the directions precisely leaving cellophane paper undisturbed on the cube, drop into tank opposite handle used for flushing. Wait at least 30 min for cube to dissolve, better yet last thing before bed gives total dissolving overnight. Color will be vivid blue at first and slowly fade over 2-4 weeks depending on frequency and number of flushes, more use, faster fade. Once faded to clear faint blue, drop next cube only after a good brush scrubbing and flushing once or twice during time blue fades to clean water line. A baking soda scrub is excellent using 2-3 tbsp sprinkled round the bowl water line and down into the drain angle. Voila! Very little chore time for hygiene and appearance.

I'm sensitive to strong scents - so there's a bit of bias, there. The scent is, in all comparable reality, very mild and reasonable (I'd like a little less 'forwardness' from my toilet bowl cleaner, but at least this one DOESN'T scent the bathroom, hallway, and nearby rooms... Oy!) I've been using SoftScrub Duo Cubes (only safe thing my plumber allows me to use!) for over a year, and my dual-flush (READ: VERY EXPENSIVE!) toilets don't leak or have any other issues indicative of other cleaners and the degradation that can be caused by more caustic products.

This product is less susceptible to inconsistent flush intervals. In other words, you don't get midnight blue when it's been a while and then clear water when it hasn't. -> Note: don't take the wrapper off!
