We installed these hooks near the door so that my husband can easily grab a hat on his way outside. They were easy to install, the bendable nature of the hooks made it easy to customize them for each hat, and the hook is invisible when hat is on it. The smooth, rounded edges of the hook will prevent any injury if someone bumps against it when a hat isn't on the hook. Nice product and I'm sure we'll buy more once he gets more hats.

The hooks are plastic as are the hanging loops. This in no way affects how well the hangers work. The hooks bend relatively easily and hold their shape. They are more than strong enough to support a cowboy hat. My only issue is that they don't look all that great with no hat on them. Even with the included screw cover, the mounting hardware is exposed. And, the glossy black plastic of the hooks looks like... plastic. A cowboy-style hat completely hides the hanger, though. I've mounted mine inside a closet so looks don't matter. I'd be hesitant to mount them in a front hallway, however. (Plus, I've not seen more decorative, metal hangers that are as flexible.) Buy them, just don't expect style!
