Great product! There are so many bad reviews on here, mentioning not all pens write at once or that it was meager packaging or whatever. But this product is actually really good. All you have to do is prime the pen just like any other, just scribble around for a bit and it works great. They recommend using it on a flat surface, and I would totally concur. Using it on a flat surface is going to give you the best results by far. The only issue I had with it was that the glue holding the eraser on didn't stick well to the plastic, so it fell off pretty quick, but I have other erasers so it really doesn't matter. Please buy this product if you're considering. It is worth your money.

It's five cheap ballpoint pens. They don't all draw full lines at the same time, all the time. Draw on a flat surface and don't use it in situations where you absolutely need the lines to all be uniform. I just fill in then the gaps manually afterwards- still way better than freehanding it.
This silly device includes an attempt at also being a pencil and an eraser. These functions are totally useless here. But that's ok it's kind of funny.

I saw this advertised in an AFM email and wished I had thought of it. Great session tool for notating just-conceived short ensemble parts when working with players using just a number chart. No more cave drawing staff hieroglyphs. Also great for notating lines as they come to you while you're amongst the general population and away from manuscript paper. Bought one to see how it worked...will now be buying more.
I did however enjoy the review displaying classic musician economics with the suggestion that a better idea would be to spend a few hours buying pens, gutting them, then somehow strapping them together to save $9.

First of all, it's covered in dust. I can ignore that, but, it wasn't the best sign. I go to take the top off the pencil side and the thing falls apart. The eraser falls out the other side and what I assume is the extra pencil lead falls out from somewhere unknown. I tried to put the erase back in, but, it won't stay in. Already, I'm upset. However, the pen works and draws the lines well. Overall, I'm glad it does what it's supposed to do, but, it's nothing magnificant. Seems very cheap, but, worth it so far if you don't want to get out a ruler to draw all your staves.

I like the pen but just like all other pens some times it skips and will have to go over it again, but other than that they are great to keep in your music bag!!
