This was my first time installing a thermostat. The previous ones were installed by a friend who had worked in HVAC previously, and by professionals.
I did call the friend to verify what I was doing. However, if I had carefully followed the instructions, I could have succeeded without help.
I love the push-in wire connectors on this unit. It replaced a programmable unit. The programmable was useful when I was working, but since retirement, a steady temperature is more desirable. This one is easy to set and to change as desired.
I also love that it can be set to use AC or heat as needed. Reprogramming the previous one for a cold snap or random warm day in fall was tedious. Where I live the weather can change drastically in a single week or even day.

Auto switching

Not sure why they don't promote the auto switching from AC to heat more. I installed it during the summer and was waiting for cold weather to see if it worked. Last night it switched to heat like a champ. I just sent the link to the thermostat to a few of my friends.

Love the thermostat it works great I had some issues programming it and I had some of the wires in the wrong slot and couldn't get the heater to work. It was my fault I called the customer service number and they got everything fixed and it works great. And it keeps our temperature like it should our old one had a lot of difference in the temperature it would hold. Our house stays a lot cooler and my electric usage actually went down. I love it and I don't like programmable ones they are a pain to program.
