It's a good tool. Does a good job on leather. I've punched through several feet of thick leather already and the tool is working great. Also used to patch a small patch of canvas. It's the right size for intended use. Nice that it comes with the other needles, so ready to use when it arrives.

I bought this to repair some canvas - simple to use and great quality. This set is light enough to take backpacking for unexpected repairs as well.

Not bad sewing awl, 1 more problem had rust on metal part where you inset needle, also metal part where you place needle is off and damaged the tread but that should not be hard to fix. overall does the job

Bought one of these 20 years ago at an army surplus store. Loaned it to a friend and forgot about it until I needed one.My leather swing arm bag on my Harley started to come apart and my friend lost the loaner so I got another.These things are simple and easy to use directions are pretty straight forward follow them and you'll do fine.
