Appears to be well made, it's sealed so without probable damage internal inspection wouldn't be easy.
The packaging, arrival, condition of product, all excellent.
As noted it's a three wire, 12vdc positive,negative, positive out to lighting, my existing switch was 12vdc positive in positive out to lighting, so I needed to install negative wire to the switch for proper operation of lights. It seems a little pricey for what it is, but to retain dimmer option it's part of the cost of the upgrade I guess. The best thing I can say I'm purchasing more of them

I have made several 10 watt LEDs ceiling lamps to replace florescent fixtures in my trailer... Far more light at half the amperage.
This dimmer works great and provides a smooth flicker-free transition from full bright to the lowest dim setting. Installation instructions were clear and construction quality is good.
For those who are wondering, high side means that voltagr/current is controlled on the positive wire. Low side means the voltage/current is controlled by altering the return to ground from the ground wire.
After testing, I believe the dimmer uses pulse width modulation (PWM) for dimming which is the most power effecient way... The measured amperage draw of the LED is reduced as it is dimmed. There is virtually no additional current draw or resistance from the dimmer itself.
I am purchasing another one to use for an outside LED on my trailer... Great product.

Installed in RV with an LED strip light (B00HSF65MC). Works great. Allows you to use bright working level lights clear down to low ambient levels. Again like the regular switches of this style no screws provided. Also I feel its overpriced, but it matches my existing rv style switches and it does work properly.

This is a high side dimmer and works great with my LED retrofit. The older dimmers that came on RV's before LEDs do not work so well with LEDs. This one works flawlessly and my LEDs are now brighter in the bedroom too. You will need a ground in the wall some where to tap into if you have an old school inline dimmer. There are 2 different types of dimmers, High side and Low side. Many of the Dimmers on Amazon are Low side dimmers. High side - the switch is wired in before the load on the +12 volt feed side of the circuit. Low Side - the switch is wired in After the load on the -12 return side of the circuit. Make sure you get the right dimmer. Chances are that if you have an RV that came with incandescent bulbs, this is the dimmer you need.
