The flavor of these were good. But most of it were broken. Since i use it in my soups or broths and i usually strain my broths so the broken pieces doesnt really matters to me. But if you are planning to cook something where whole star anise is needed for presentation then this might not be suitable. the broken pieces are not like powder but they are more like chunks. Its a good value for money though.
