I've used this alert bracelet for 5 years - on my wrist 24/7- and it is still going strong. The lettering is in perfect condition and not deteriorated. I never take it off, not even to shower or swim. It is easily sized to fit and very comfortable to wear. The only issue is lately the clasp undoes itself or opens when caught on something. When this happens, it usually doesn't fully release from the wrist, but I feel the loosening and can simply lock the clasp. On a few occasions, the clasp has opened and slipped of my wrist during sleep. I find the bracelet in the sheets. After 5 years of total wear, it might be time to get a new one if this continues -- but, without a doubt, this is a very good investment.

I just wanted to update my review. The rash on my right wrist started around the time I had been wearing the bracelet, I did take it off after wearing it and having the rash, taking it off for a time and trying again but the rash remained when I wore the bracelet. The rash is gone now but I'm wearing it on my left wrist now and I've had no problem. Seems the bracelet is fine and I am faulty.
The bracelet is well made, I adjusted it to fit my wrist with the provided tools. About a week of wearing it 24/7, a rash developed on my wrist. I decided to remove it due to the irritation and left it off for a couple of weeks. I wasn't sure if it was the bracelet or not since it's supposed to be surgical steel and shouldn't cause any allergies. The rash subsided so I put the bracelet back on and had the same reaction. Maybe I'm just extra sensitive but I do believe the bracelet did cause the rash.
