sensors are bogus - stay away

if your outdoor fixture is anything but completely transparent, don't bother. any slight tint to the glass of the enclosure will throw off the sensor. the stupid tubes you have to insert for the sensor make absolutely no sense whatsoever either. i hate this item. Wish i could return but i'm lazy and i missed the return deadline like a bozo. I'm an idiot.

It works mostly as advertised. As other reviewers noted, it defaults to on more than off. I have had a little trouble getting it to turn off in the morning. I tend to manually turn it off at night when I go to bed, and then flick it on the next day when I leave the house (so it's on when I return) and many times it the light will come on in the morning when it's clearly daylight. Of course now it's often dark when I leave in the morning so I've had less opportunity to check!
It's better than the model I picked up a year ago at a big box store, which essentially busted apart trying to install a light bulb.

I've had this for a while now and it seems to go off much earlier than any of the other light sensing bulbs on the neighborhood around here.. And stays on much longer as well. And I would kind of like it to not do that. So it's too sensitive or something. I've opened it up as much as possible, to allow as much light as possible, to keep it from staying on quite as long. But it does work, and will do in a pinch.
Complete disappointment. This item needs a quality check to confirm ...

Had purchase elsewhere two of these and used them for about 6 years on my front porch lights, one failed and it would no longer turn off during the day. Searching out the same brand I purchased a replacement early in the summer. It did not work from the moment it was installed, would not turn off during the day. I contacted Amazon and a replacement was sent, it again did not work from the get go, so I requested a return. I received an email from Amazon Market Place asking if I would consider keeping it at a discounted rate, I thought that odd and though several weeks of correspondence it turns out that Amazon Market Place was referring to something else entierly that had already been returned. Some confusion here, now it appears I must pay the return of the item which will be 50% of its cost. Not worth the effort on a less than 10 dollar item. Complete disappointment. This item needs a quality check to confirm whether or not it should even be sold.

Using four of these dusk to dawn light controls, for the last three weeks.
They are working exactly how they are intended to be.
Depending on the location and type of light fixture, you have to use the plastic tubes given, to adjust the sensitivity.
This is accomplished by trial and error method and requires a little bit of patience.
At the end, everything is going to be working perfectly alright.
