If you need something that will hold your book open, (really open!) this is it!
After reading reviews from other customers on the different types of book weights and brackets you can purchase to hold your book open, and all the fails of what seemed like every type of book holder out there, I decided what I needed was a long, good quality clamp. I have a lot of art and cartooning books which tend to be larger than the average novel, so I decided to give these clamps a try. They work perfectly!!! Of course they can also hold smaller books like a novel, but I'm not sure I'd use it for that as they are pretty large clamps.
Thanks to another customer review about the edges being a bit sharp on the clamp and adding packing tape to solve the problem, I decided to do the same, except with a little decorative style. LOL! I added cute washi tape to the edges of mine (see photo) and then put clear packing tape over the edges (as I wasn't sure if the washi tape would leave marks on my books pages which I didn't want to happen). The clamp is fantastic! It holds my art books open flat, doesn't have sharp edges because of the tape and looks super cute! Finally a book clamp that is large enough and strong enough to get the job done right.
