It functions as you would expect, but there are a couple small things that I noticed. The screws provided for mounting are a little on the short side if you are mounting through half-inch sheetrock (not unusual with online purchases these days). The other small imperfection is the felt that is glued to the wood was not cut to the right length, or it was glued on crooked. Either way an 1/8 inch piece of felt sticks out beyond the lip of the wood. I mounted mine high on the wall, so it cannot be seen. Otherwise the item works well and looks good.
