This white cane is not nearly as reflective as it should be.

I had to apply reflective sign tape to it's segments to make it reflect well enough for traffic to see thee cane at greater distances, at night.

The elastic is a bit too short, and it's hard to get a loop around the entire cane. You'll want to put a knot about half way along the existing loop to be able to loop the elastic around the cane to stow it. But, I've had to find some Velcro strip to wrap around the other end of the stowed cane, to stop it flipping out.

This cane came with a velvet like bag, but the bag had a very bad smell about it.

I suppose you could use that bag, with it's draw strings looped through a belt, to stow the cane in, if you can't use the elastic to stow the cane. Don't know if the bag can be washed, without ruining the velvet surface, or not. Maybe fabric freshener might get rid of the bad smell?

You may not be able to track the shipping progress. Mine never showed tracking, even after being delivered.

I do like the wider diameter probe on the end of the cane. Should be able to glide over sidewalk cracks without causing the cane to jab you, when it hits a crack, unlike my old cane, with it's narrow probe.

By the way, white canes customarily have a red end, and white main body. However, I've learned that red is not as reflective at night. In low lighting, red shows as nearly black, or gray. So I got some red, as well as yellow reflective tape for the probe end of the cane. The reflective tape shows both the red, and yellow much brighter. I used reflective white for the rest of the cane. The difference is like night and day, compared with the cane's existing, not so reflective tape.

I was glad to note these canes can be purchased based on your measurement needs. If you're new to cane sizing, just measure from the ground to the arm pit, for advanced users, or from the ground, to your chin, for new users, but you may find one works better than the other for you.
Does the job

I had forgotten my mobility cane on recent vacation. I ordered this one and was pleasantly surprised. I was able to order the size I needed and received it quickly.
The cane is a little thick for me as it breaks down into six sections. However I knew this upon ordering the cane. It comes with a black carry bag, I'd probably never use this. The elastic wrist strap wouldn't hold the cane together but I just tied a knot in the end of the strap and then it worked fine to secure the sections together.
So far the cane is working well for me and I haven't had any issues with the elastic breaking as some have mentioned. For an impromptu cane it has worked well for me.

I really like this new cane. It fits me better because I'm tall and the cane is taller also. I am able to get around much safer without risk of falls.
Very surprised by the product

As a visually impaired person, normally I would get my white cane from my orientation and mobility instructor"¦ However with starting College"¦ I don't necessarily have as easy access to orientation and mobility instructors, so I decided to buy a white cane for myself.
Overall I was pleasantly surprised by the product. When I ordered it, I was a little skeptical because most canes I've had have either been four or five sections. I've never had one that fold it down to six sections. This however does not seem like it is going to be a problem or make things any different for me.
I was also pleasantly surprised to see that it came with a drawstring bag, and an extra tip for the cane! (As that was the whole reason I was getting a new one in the first place)

The only real issue I have couldn't really be considered an issue at all. It more has to do with preference. With canes I have had in the past, there is normally enough string at the top to where there will be a not holding the cane together and then another knot in the access string to make a little loop in order to make it easier to hang the cane"¦ But the string on this one is shorter. Again not a real problem"¦ Just a preference thing.
I like this better than ambutech

Personally this will be my everyday stick, but the thing people need to know is that:

It is heavier than other canes especially those made out of carbon fiber. I don't mind the weight. I enjoy it actually, but it is something to think about (probably the same as any other aluminum stick if you're comparing it to an older one)

The tips are a decent size but you will need a bigger ball or an Omnisense directional wheels if you are tired of getting jabbed due to uneven walkways.

Cons:

A PITA when it comes to the fact that the cord is LONG (I'm not kidding, I had to tighten it cause the cord was to slack for my taste and it ended up wayyyyy to long)

The folding aspect it's a huge pain due to the fact that it folds into many smaller pieces. (I thought folding it into smaller pieces would make it easier but the many pieces makes it a bit harder to tie it up using the cord so it tends to unravel.)

I have an ambutech and although the ambutech is "nicer" in terms of asthetics, I like this one because of the price.
