I plugged this in and thought this was not working, but it was just me being silly and not plugging the USB Cable to the computer. Once both are plugged, the power starts the drive correctly, this is great, as I can leave it always plugged but it won't be running/spinning unless the PC is running as well.

What can I say? The charger fitted the drive and got it working again. That's so rare these days that I thought it was worth three stars, and it arrived earlier than advertised, which is worth an extra star.

I have a 5 year old Seagate external hard drive that was failing to mount to my MacBook. After swapping out USB cables and power supplies, I concluded I had a bad AC adapter. This replacement fulfills my needs splendidly and affordably. I am knocking one star on this review because one of the three included tips was badly molded (see photo) and I would assume possibly dangerous. I didn't need that specific tip for my application, so I will toss it out.
