Daughter flipped float in pool

I received this float for my daughter and I loved it! Definitely the best one I have bought for her yet. I liked that she could jump off of the ledge (with my help she's only 2) and she wouldn't go under, she would float around the pool and play she loved it. The canopy isn't the best and my daughter ended up just pulling it down and pulling it off so that's a no go for us. One day we were in the pool and I was in the pool with my kids I turned my head for one second to help her sibling and next thing you know the float was upside down and my babies feet were out of the water and you could tell she was trying to flip it back over and was in a panic . Luckily I was right there with her so I was able to flip her back up. She was scared and was crying but somehow I think she held her breath. This is why they ALWAYS tell you to not leave babies alone. Yes, they help your baby swim but floats are NOT YOUR BABY SITTER!! Please never leave your child unattended no matter what float you use. Water can be very dangerous to our babies!

I own two of these because I love the way baby floats and can reach the water while also kicking.
If you get the shade cover, know that it will be at an angle no matter what you do, but it helps, especially in the desert where I live.
Bad side, my newest one got a small puncture on the top in what seemed to be an easy to patch place. I had a patch that came with it, followed the full instructions and made the repair. Less than a week later, the patch came off fully. Tried to patch again and it lasted less than 2 days. I've tried to contact the customer support but after a week have received no response.
**Update -- still never received any contact from customer service but a proper vinyl patch (

I didn't realize when I ordered, so I'm starting review off with that. Baby kinda rides on their belly. This isn't an issue over all, but something to keep in mind if you were planning to take into a wave pool.
It is secure. With it being a belly design, it discourages a lot of movement, so keep in mind that baby is more apt to get cold.
Straps are covered in a soft plastic so they do not hurt or leave marks. Our baby liked it. She took a nap in it, haha. We are no longer using as she has now exceeded weight limit, but we used it every time we went swimming while she did fit.
You do not need a pump, it blows up relatively fast.
Another thing to keep in mind: baby lays in it, so you have to take her out of it pretty much each time you leave the water. You can't just pick it up and carry her with it easily. We have other children, and I had to unstrap her to carry her to take care of my other kids. Not a deal broker, just something to keep in mind.

This was the best thing for my babies. My 10 month old is my water baby and he loved this. I was able to push him around in deeper water and he liked using his feet n pushing himself in the shallow water, then on his back he fell asleep to the waves. Great investment if you have an infant in the summer are in the water. I do have the shade but didn't use it much. My oldest I used it but he didn't move around much or like to be in the water so it was good for him, my youngest just grabbed at it so we used with out.
