Great Value Monitors

For the money, I can't imagine anyone getting more at this price range. The speakers have a balanced sound and just sound great. I don't have any doubts in my mixes when I work on these.
I've seen confusion in reviews as to whether a subwoofer is needed or not. It's my assumption based on what was stated they might be first time purchasers. The bass is really punchy and clear with detail, but you'll need to supplement the low end with bass you feel with -- a subwoofer. You can still hear sounds down to the 40-50hz range, but to feel the sub-bass in your chest you'll need a subwoofer to even out the experience. If I crank up the volume on the JBL's the bass can get close to my subwoofer. However, accuracy is important here, not volume. I'm on a budget so I was able to cheat and use a Y cable to route the the L/R audio from my Focusrite to my old subwoofer. In the future I'll be looking to upgrade and drop the splitter.
Reviewers mentioned a hissing sound in the speakers, in my experience I never noticed it over the slight hum of my computer unless I position my ears less than 12" from the speaker.
The speakers are without a doubt sufficiently loud. I had to set the volume at 12 o'clock on the speakers, and the same position with my Focusrite. The sound filled the room entirely. One thing to keep in mind these are rear-port firing speakers. So you'll need to treat your room properly for these to work at their best for you. If that's not an immediate option you can use the Trim feature to overcome the bass bleeding through. This seems to be the issue I saw with inexperienced reviewers who were critical of clarity.
One aspect that seems to get overlooked is stereo imaging. When I listen to Micket Hart - Udu Chant you can visualize the entire sound stage. The song also makes great use of panning effects which these JBL's do a good job projecting. You can almost follow the sound heard in the intro with your eyes.
If you're either a first time studio monitor buyer, or looking to own some in this price range you wont be disappointed in how these perform. Excellent speakers!
I'd recommend all future purchasers and current owners to check out the AudioCheck website. They have really great ways to test your speakers!

These speakers are amazing, 112 watts for each speaker, they are nice and loud and also sound crisp 👌 the bass is great 👠the treble is perfect👠I use them as monitor speakers for my DJ equipment, they're connected right to my mixer with TRS cables and that sound is amazing 👠Some people are saying theirs a hum noise, not for me. The sound is very clean and crisp. My only regret is that I wish I bought these sooner.
Great sound fits perfectly

These JBL speakers look and sound great! I noticed though, that in order to get the thumping bass sound from these, you'll need to have the backs of both speakers close to the wall. And a subwoofer would definitely enhance the bass as well.
Good speakers, good sound.

Great speaker sound and quality. A bit pricey but music from my LPs do sound better. Also having a quality diamond tipped needle from ortofon helps out a lot.
