We always make birthday candles on the eve of the child's birthday. I bought this set because they were way cheaper than what I usually buy. Pros- Cost. Small size. No cutting the wax. Cons-These smell like the house is on fire on when lit. We had them lit for like 30 seconds and the smell was awful. I'm not convinced these are genuine beeswax. They smell like crayons. The color transferred onto the table during the rolling process. I think these are fine for birthday candles. Would not use in a Waldorf birthday ring or for any display purposes.

Love this tradition. Great for all age kids. My kids loved it when they were little and we're still doing it years later. Every year my kids make our Chanukah candles but remember you need to buy 2 boxes to get all the candles you need for the holiday.
