These were the closest to the military ones I could find. They are on my Carne Corso/Pits. These vests work as they should and I added "silencer" points to the front metal clips. I use elastic webbing. Definitely do the job. If you are new to working large working breeds, these are a must. Remember not to use the vest as a training tool. That's what a collar is for. These simply aid in the dog-human connection and help reinforce proper training methods. If this is a new method for you, do some research or contact a professional trainer to walk you through the proper technique and help your dog reach their maximum potential. Go with one size larger because you can size down and eliminate any scratch points on your dog.

Bought this for a Border Collie pup nearing a year old with major anxiety issues, who startles very easily and has a hefty response to perceived threats with barking, lunging, etc (new meds seem to be helping much more than the old ones, so much less of an issue now).

The harness is very sturdy, nice and solid manufacture with metal hardware, and the handle makes it so much easier to control her when she flips out. Zero signs of fraying or stress from her hefty fight or flight responses, makes bringing her under control a breeze. Overall very impressed with this harness after going through three other styles that just couldnt hold up to her stress responses.

She shows zero signs of discomfort with this harness, even when she wears it for the whole day. It is a touch weighty, and she was hesitant the first few times i went to put it on her after the initial wear, but now she stands calmly while I strap her in before bounding over to the door to wait impatiently while I get her leash.

Only thing I could possibly knock about it would be that it seems to run just a hair larger than the measurements would suggest, as I measured her according to the guide provided, she fit just a couple of inches over the minimum size, and I currently have the harness snugged up as far as it will go and it is just a touch loose on her. Not a problem for me, as she is only just now hitting the one year mark and she hasnt been spayed yet, so I have no doubt i will end up letting it out a little in a couple of months.

Be prepared to brush down the harness after walks though if your dog likes to roll around like mine does... the velcro does like to collect grass clippings and such! Just buy plenty of patches and the problem goes away!

Update: July 1st 2022.
More than one year on and this thing is just as solid as the day i got it.
My girl demands her harness when she is ready for her morning walk, and then has no interest in any attempt to remove it until her last out of the day. Even when it is a mostly lazy day where she is just laying around the house, she doesnt want her harness removed. It is without a doubt the most comfortable of all the harnesses we tried, the most secure, and the safest. She can be easily controlled when she freaks out, and she looks so smart in it.

I came back here because I am going to order a second one now in a lighter color, as this is Oklahoma in summer, and as a predominantly black dog, she does get a bit warm. It will be nice to have options, and while I have seen no sign of any fraying of stitched, loosening of buckles, etc, I am sure swapping between two of them will make these last her lifetime.

Never been happier with a purchase.

Final update. 8/27/22
Bought the same size in Grey with reflective stitching. This harness has had some design tweaks since my original purchase. The new red tabs on the front buckles are easier to open, almost too easy.
Most importantly, the underbelly piece has changed from a single unit to a two piece with adjustability. Its a solid looking update that i cannot knock at all. Great improvement.
However, this redesign has increased the size of the harness, meaning the old design that I bought in a medium, that when cinched up as far as possible, fits like a glove and can grow with her, has been replaced with an improved product that no longer fit my dog as it was too loose.

Amazon returns arent a hassle, and I'll probably end up just ordering the small now instead, but if a product is updated, the listing should be as well.

Just pay close attention to sizing, and assume it will be a little loose now and adjust accordingly.

Still 1000% recommend!

Product's packaging was barebones. Could have very easily gotten damaged during shipping, but it was delivered in seemingly good condition.

Other than that, I love this product! It fit my one year old female lab perfectly out of the bag with almost no adjustments needed except a little bit on the sides to give her some breathing room. Trimmed the excess and after a few minutes she seemed comfy. Took it off and she got upset until I put it back on, so I think she likes it as well lol.
The stitching is very well done and the top handle is sturdy to pull on. The metal D rings seem durable as well as the clips. Would highly recommended especially the reflective version for dogs that are difficult to see at nighttime.

This review is based on the five years we've had this product for my red sable male GSD and how this product has held up. I purposely waited to write this review since the product was really well made when I purchased it years ago (2018).

Pro: Nice green color. High quality material. Strong metal clasps, not cheap plastic clasps,
and very comfortable material. Very clean and sleek look. The vest does not fall short or long on the dog's torso. It's a perfect length as some vests tend to be on the shorter end. My dog loves this vest. It is very comfortable and it allows him to have great mobility with comfort. The material do not cut into his fur/skin especially when he is exercising at a high energy level or out during long walks/jogs. This product is still used weekly (since I purchased the vest for my dog). Very little signs of wear and tear in the five years. I probably will not need to purchase a new vest anytime soon for him. I did purchased other vest brands and I returned them due to inferior material in comparison. Nothing to dislike about this product. If this company continue to keep the quality level the same (as when I bought this vest for my dog five years ago....) I will buy from this company again.

Con: Nothing. Nit-picking would be more color selection?

Do I recommend this product? Yes. Serves what we need for our dog. Love the clean sleek look and the Quality is superb. Photo is a current photo of my dog in his vest.

As long as the owner takes care if the vest; this product should last a long time. I hope my review help other dog parents make the right decision if they are considering this product.

We got the Large for our elderly 56-lb pit bull. It looked cool, but probably the best part is the handle on the back. She has arthritis so sometimes she sways, wobbles, and just loses her balance so the handle made it easier to hold her up and keep her steady. It was also so helpful when getting her in and out of the car because we need to lift her. I highly recommend for that reason.

However, one star was deducted because it is not easy to put in, and because she was so uncomfortable in it.

Ideally, we'd keep a comfortable, lightweight harness on her most of the time just for convenience (we wake her up every 4-5 hours to potty since she doesn't quite know how to ask) but it wasn't an option with this one. We would especially have loved to keep this one on her because it's not exactly quick and easy to put on. It's sturdy, yes, but also very firm with not very much give. She actually couldn't handle this harness on a car ride; since she has bad legs she NEEDS to sit/lie down frequently, but the harness had her standing in pain for an entire ride, because the harness was so uncomfortable to lie down in. I had to pull over and take it off so she could rest. I get that it's "tactical" and not exactly meant for comfort - but I do wish there was more give or had a softer material to line it. Additionally, and this might just be the way she's built, the back of it lifted so high up. It fit really well in the front, but for some reason, it lifted. Despite it not working with my dog, I would still recommend it for service dogs, dogs that frequent the park, or dogs that go with their humans on adventures of all kinds as it will definitely hold up to the task at hand. The velcro gives you a canvas to put any kind of patches you want so you can make it look cool and custom! Really wish we could've done that.
