My old boot bag was falling apart and the Kulkea Boot Trekker is by far and away a better bag. The design is far superior and the backpack feature is outstanding.
I purchased the Kulkea from Alpine East in Dover NH, which was delivered on time and included a very thoughtful note. I will look to do business with them again as they are a first-class operation.

This bag is seriously well-constructed. So much so that we can hand off to the airlines as luggage and there is not even a scratch, so to speak. Boots are protected, but the many interior zippered pockets are the real surprise. We can pack so much ski stuff into the bag (ski pants, gloves, neck warmers, helmet and goggles, etc) that we minimize our luggage to one other piece (beyond skis). This is actually the third bag that we have purchased for the family. For local ski trips, we can reduce the weight and the bag is perfect for bringing ski stuff into the lodge (pre-Covid).

Before ordering the Trekker, I had recently purchased a different boot bag by another manufacturer. That bag's stitching started to come undone in two spots, and the liner that separates the boots from the rest of the bag ripped out. After watching the video of the Trekker, and reading the reviews, I ordered one. The bag has enough room for my ski pants, coat, vest, and some extra clothes in the main compartment. My helmet also fits in the smaller one. The bag also will accommodate my daughters stuff ( 5yo) stuff including helmet, but not her boots. The material and construction of the bag is superior to the one I had originally started with. I had only used that previous bag 6 times. While the Trekker has only been used at the end of the season, it has met my expectations. Some minor things for me. I would like to have double zippers for the main/front compartments. The main compartment is big enough, but the opening could be a bit bigger. Lastly, a bungy cord on the outside would be nice for wet clothing, like ski pants in spring skiing. Overall, a very good bag, and would recommend it

This ski boot bag is an organizational DREAM. Zippers are in all the right places, venting is thoughtfully placed, and it looks great. The one major flaw is that you can't fit your helmet in the bag. To be fair and clear, Kulkea is upfront about this design choice, and they instead have a "helmet hammock" as part of the bag's design. I thought I would be okay with this since the rest of the bag is so outstandingly made; however, after using it for a few seasons, I've decided to sell it and get a bag that can fit my helmet. Having the helmet on the outside exposes it to getting knocked around with other gear whether it's in the car or on a plane"”not how I want my "brain bucket" to be treated except when it's going to do what it's designed for! If you don't ski with a helmet, then this bag is pretty much perfect. If you do ski with a helmet, I'd strongly recommend looking elsewhere to protect your helmet so it can protect your head!

Purchased at end of Jan 2020. Due to pandemic, Did not get to ski until Jan. 2022 and only used 3 times. Already coming apart. Contacting kulkea now. Hoping they do something about this.
