The smell stays away until you open the pail again. It lasts a llllllooooonnnnnggggg time, I have had one bottle for almost two years now. It's time to use it up and get out a new one.

I didn't think this would work, because literally nothing I've tried has worked for my baby's diaper pail. But like. It actually works! I'm not saying it's a magic fix that perfectly removes all odors, but her room smells so so much better now that I've started spraying this in the diaper pail every time I put a diaper in. Also I love the scent; it's very fresh and smells like spring rain.
