It smells really good once you get it going. I had difficulty trying to keep it lit and I had to add an extra one. I have two beehives so it's going to take about 1 for each hive depending on how fast you are.

I'm a beginning beekeeper, and I have two hives. I was looking for an easy way to produce smoke for my hive inspections. Beekeepers give all kinds of advice on what to use for the smoker fuel - from burlap to cotton cloth to wood chips. It was all too comlicated for me, and these little fuel pods solved my problem. They are easy to light with a lighter and last enough for one hive inspection. I usually use two at a time to produce denser smoke and blow on them until the whole surface on one end is burning before putting them in the smoker. Lasts about 15 minutes and keeps the bees calm.
1 pellet works well for me and burns 25-30 minutes ...
