I bought these as a decorative award, thus don't need them to ring, but they are great. The size is perfect for an award to look valuable and when rung it is very loud. I was worried about the quality but am very happy with this purchase so far!

I am very happy with this bell so far. This is not a cheap steel bell that has been gold plated to look brass. It is a good solid brass bell that is fairly heavy compared to others I have seen.
The good:
Tone - Being brass it "rings" and for a good long time, it doesn't "clank".
Looks - This thing just plain looks good. It is nice enough to use as home decor or in my case annoy the other people in my section at the hockey games!! :)
The bad (and I am being picky here):
The clapper was detached when I received the bell. It is attached to the rod that attaches the handle to the bell via a hole in the rod and a rather thin s-hook. I do not believe these parts will last over years of use (my opinion, TBD).
The handle started to feel loose after just a few test swings. I do not know if it was because of the wood handle shrinking/drying, the bell assembly not being fully tightened at assembly, or working loose during use. In any case a drop or 2 of LockTite will fix the issue.
EDIT 12/20/2021:
After about a year of rather hard use (covid shut games down for a while), The tone went to hell, I found a crack that went about 50% around the bell inside the lower decorative cut. Did I get 1 years worth of ringing out of it, Yes. But looking elsewhere for its replacement. BTW, I did ring it VERY hard when we scored!!

Bought this bell in Dec of 2018. Used it one time for maybe 15 minutes. Went to use it the second time in 11/19. The klanger flew off. Lost in the snow. Santa was there and had a bell that would not sound. Not good. This should not have happened. Very disappointed in quality.
