I wanted to get my one year old nephew a toddler instrument set for his first birthday. But I didn't want a set that sounded like toddler instruments. This "Beat from the East" set was perfect. The drum has a really beautiful sound. The xylophone sounds better than most found in kids sets. Taps out a perfect nursery rhyme. And the cymbals were a hit. He absolutely loved hitting all of them and playing along with the adults around him. Highly recommend this.

Xylophone is terribly out of tune

The xylophone is terribly out of tune, which is detrimental to music education. We had to purchase a separate xylophone that's properly tuned. Everything else, however, is satisfactory.
Really cute set. Overall, good value for the money. Just needs a few minor adjustments.

Purchased for ABA therapy office. Very cute set. I inspected each item carefully and overall; they seem pretty well built and there is a large assortment of instruments for the price. Just a few concerns: We will be replacing the yellow plastic ring on the triangle with a natural cord due to the potential choking hazard of the plastic piece. Additionally, the wood on the harmonica is slightly cracked where a child's mouth would go. We don't use "shared" mouth pieces in the clinic, so we did not intend to use the harmonica anyway. After we replace the yellow plastic piece and take out the harmonica from the set, it will be perfect. Still a good value for what you get.
