These drawstrings worked great for me. My L.L. Bean sweatpants had no drawstring but plenty of space in the elastic waistband to install. I took these to my favorite seamstress and she installed them in two pairs of sweat for only $10. They did come with an easy install tool. They worked okay for me due to my size. They would be too long for a typical younger person.

When I first used this product on a drawstring hoodie, it worked well. However, when using on sweatpants, it was quite difficult mainly because the plastic device (orange) you will used to pull the sting through is very flimsy on one end. You also need to make sure the cord to be pulled through is tied tightly to the orange device to prevent the cord from becoming detached from the flimsy end. After an hour, it worked. So, this product works but depending on the item you are trying to repair it can be difficult.
