I love to get STEM gifts for children instead of junk they'll only like for a few minutes. This kit is one I got for my son's friend. His mom said this gift was his favorite present. It makes a wonderful project to do with your child. My son's friend sat down with his dad to make it and they said the instructions were easy to follow. I LOVE that it's solar powered and has a place for batteries so the fun doesn't have to end so soon. The child's dad even enjoys this so I know he won't grow out of it any time soon. 😂

In the end, the car worked, and my 7 year old had a great time helping to build/drive it with and without batteries. The only complaint I have is the screws and nuts are so tiny and at one point we lost one, then found it, then had the worst time trying to screw it into the tiny plates with the antennae. And maybe we didn't screw them in tight enough, but the next day, after driving/playing with the car for a bit, the screws fell out again! Honestly, if we didn't have to deal with the frustration of the screws I would have given this a 5 star rating.

The media could not be loaded. I bought this for my grandson's 7th birthday with the intent to work together on a project. He was able to assemble the frame and wheels with a bit of assistance. He kept us on course by looking at the pictures in the instructions. Installing the motor and wiring became more of my responsibility. He had seen a video on Amazon showing that someone had added lights, so we had to do that as well. It was good that I had several LED's.

Note: The wiring is pretty straightforward for someone older, but for it to work well one would need a wire stripper to expose enough wire to twist together. Also soldering the wires could eliminate any issues.

Overall I believe that this was a good learning and team project. It shows the basics of how a remote control car work and also gives an opportunity to share time with a child. I would buy again!

very practical way to really teach kids how to really understand their own toy. The assembly can be a bit confusing for first time user. However, following instruction is neccesarily to get it done nicely. Wiring is easier than i though even though the wire colors are a bit different; mostly common sense when it comes to wiring, stay calm and clear then everything should be fine. The remote control battery case could be a bit tricky; maybe it is designed to have one battery fits loosely( just the edge of one battery touch the terminal: for easy taking in/out if the remote control is not in use to save battery?) find out for yourself, mostly common sense needed.

Fun project, double sided tape was a pain to use. some glue or screws for assembly would make the item feel more complete.
