Never had one of these before. Watched videos and they said easy pressure. I did that with the first towel topper I made and it would not work. Use full pressure and they snap easily. Washed three towels that have these and no issue of melting the plastic. LOVE IT.
No need to cut the tip; don't know why the instructions say that. Just make sure you fully apply pressure and it'll work.

I bought this after having purchased the metal snaps with the hole punch looking applicator first (which is not worth the money) and was surprised to find that this set with the plastic/resin snap buttons is easier, more durable, and better quality than the metal ones by FAR. I'm literally so impressed with the ease and quality of this product, I finished a child's dress with the cream buttons (attached a photo) and it's perfect and took only a minute or two and it's so secure and works great I recommend this to anyone looking

These snaps are alright. They are a little hard to use (and the instructions aren't great so hopefully you already know how to use them). Also they are not very big so you can really only use them on a couple of layers of thin fabric (like regular cotton or quilting cotton). Anything more than that and they don't work (learned the hard way). For what they are and the price, it is a good deal. There are lots of colors to work with, just know what you are getting...snaps that can't take a lot of abuse and aren't super sturdy. I would also have liked some kind of storage for the tools they come with, I made something but otherwise all the tools are just loose. And all of the bits for each color are stored together so you have to go digging for the male/female ends you need. Overall, the good (lots of colors, all the tools you need, etc) outweigh the bad for me as long as you are aware.

So many great, fun colors included in this set. The tool is very easy to grip and use. The measuring tape in only centimeters was a fun added surprise - and all the other accessories are appreciated. Bought this set because it came in a storage case which is very handy. I just wish there was an easy way to store the plier tool with the snaps.
