Ok. I found this amazing piece and honestly it was just what I was looking for. I bought it to try out as a center piece for my kitchen table before getting 2 for my nightstands and I want these all over my house. It doesn't stay lit for too long...maybe 2 hours or so. I also didn't get the fuel that it came with. After reading other reviews they said it works with alcohol so I've been doing that and it works perfectly!! I am very sensitive to some gas fire pits with the smell so I was really hoping to not have that problem with this. And zero smell with using the alcohol as the gas at least. The glass around it keeps the flame inside and it doesn't feel dangerous or sketchy at all. Def def recommend to add an extra cozy vibe to your space.

These are so pretty in your home and make anything look elevated but I was so bummed because they set off my fire alarm constantly. I even tried using isopropyl alcohol instead of the biofuel and it still set them off. We also have very high ceilings so I am really, really bummed because they look amazing on our night stands in the evenings. If anyone has any tips for this, please help!

I ordered two of these. One had the rocks and the other didn't. So that they match, I will have to buy more rocks for both. I also wish it came with some fluid so I would know what to buy. Otherwise, it was nicely packaged. The glass was intact and there were no dents or defects to any of the parts. There is a little squishy material thing in the cup like a wick, I also wonder how to replace that. The metal is textured black.

The media could not be loaded. Jun 2023: updated review to give full 5 stars as I see they removed the claim that it burns for several hours. I've had it for almost a year and have used it regularly, through 4 seasons. Because of the glass, the flame was protected from breezes (attached video taken in Nov). It doesn't give off a significant amount of heat but does give a cozy ambiance.
I used the unreturnable bio-fuel I mentioned in my previous comments below. There was no difference in burn time, smell, or any other factor so I continue to use significantly cheaper 91% rubbing alcohol from the dollar store.
I will be buying another, once the prices come back down. I'm thinking of either getting this exact one again to have a matching pair, or possibly getting one of the long rectangular ones. Note that the base is plastic and if you look too closely, it can look a little cheap and flimsy. This allows it to be light and easily portable. I've had several social gatherings and no one has commented on a 'cheap' look so I call it a win.

Sept 2022 initial review: Absolutely love this! Those that have given it low reviews didn't set it up properly. It's packaged upside down so if you put it together the way you took it out of the packaging, it won't set up correctly and you will definitely be confused and disappointed. If you pour out the rocks into the base and it seems there's not enough, and the cup with the cloth wants to fall out, you have the base upside down.
I ordered bio-ethanol which was going to arrive a few days after the fire bowl so out of impatience I tried some rubbing alcohol to test the bowl (91% from the dollar store). It burns fantastically so I no longer need or want the significantly more expensive biofuel I ordered. However, Amazon will Not accept the return of the fuel because it's a gas *shrug* they can ship it but you can't return it???
Don't bother buying the bio-fuel, a bottle of high percentage rubbing alcohol from the dollar store is the same thing and much cheaper (the difference in rubbing alcohol and the bio-ethanol is the process used to make it. They both act exactly the same and have the same burn time.)
I'm not sure where the manufacturer got the several hour estimate for burn time. You get about an hour or so and you have to wait for the cup to cool down before you can fill and light again. Because of this difference, I give this 4 stars instead of 5 because the burn estimate is very misleading and disappointing. But based on other reviews, I anticipated only an hour so with that adjusted expectation, I have thoroughly enjoyed the fire bowl. If the description estimated an hour of burn time, I'd give it 5 stars.
