So first off whoever complained about the spring "breaking", it's not really attached permanently, the ends kind of screw into ratch other. If it comes apart it'll go back together easily. It only has to work long enough to install. Here's what I used it for; I bought a new Rock Shox fork for an e-bike I made from an old Trek I had. I used this to mount a permanent headlight under the fork tube instead of where it normally mounts (thanks Rock Shox for not including at least one threaded mount ugh). The only modification I had to do was to take a little material off the sides of the wedges to make it fit just right. A few minutes on a belt sander, a leftover disk brake mounting screw and Bob's your uncle!
