I used Webroot for years now. I haven't had too many problems, but when I did the support is hit and miss.
Maybe that's based on their workload. Some techs have taken their time and explained how they fixed the problem. Others have rushed thru the call and you don't really get to know what they did and what to do if you have the problem again, other than to call back.
What I like best, if a threat does appear, just reboot and it's gone.

In my opinion, the best anti virus software. Been using for over a decade and just purchased this one for our church.

I had no issues installing this to my old computer windows 7!!! I usually have all kinds of issues with installing products. Not Webroot...so far so good!

The people at Webroot created a good software, BUT they're very dumb when it comes to product support. I repurchased this software as my license had expired. It's a digital item on Amazon so you have to download it to your computer. It's about 3.6 mB in size. I clicked on it and nothing happens. I was scratching my head for a while. I went back to my Amazon account to check the order and it shows a keycode. Not sure what I was doing, I copied the keycode anyway and opened the old Webroot console on my computer. I spotted "My Account" and clicked on the gear icon to its right. I pasted the keycode and voila, my subscription is renewed.

When a customer buys a product, there should be instructions on how to use the product. Webroot did not do that and caused me inconvenience and annoyance. I had to figure it out myself. To the people at Webroot, you guys are VERY DUMB when it comes to product support but you did create a good software. I hope you're reading this...

I've been using Webroot AV going on five years, and this is the sixth time (Jan 2019) that I've purchased such. It's very light on system resources, and though it's not as light on data usage as it once was, which is important for anyone with a data capped ISP, it is still fairly data friendly. Much of the data usage now stems from upload checks to PhreshPhish, which concerns the anti-phishing aspect of the product.

Though I tend to be a careful person when it comes to websites I choose to visit, Webroot has kept me out of trouble on a few occasions over these five years, and I'm sure it will continue to do so. The Webroot Filtering Extension for Chrome is also a great help, letting me know which websites are safe and which are suspect in my Google search results.

Overall, I would definitely recommend Webroot AV for anyone needing great basic protection. I have it on my W10 desktop, my W10 laptop and my folks' W8.1 laptop, and it's been great for them, too.

Update (12/12/2020) - Though I still use Webroot, I cannot use it on my new Ryzen 5 3400G build. For some reason it slows the entire system to an absolute crawl. And by crawl I mean clicking on a program icon, such as Chrome, and it being at least a minute or two before it even reacts, and I can't do anything in the meantime, as again, it slows EVERY deliberate action on the computer. I still use it for my Dell Inspiron 15-3521 laptop and my folks' Samsung laptop, however, and it still works very well on both of them. I have to remove a star because of the problem, bringing it to four.
