Our old scratching post was scratched bare by our bigger cat. The 3/8" sisal was falling off in pieces. I could not find 3/8" so used this new 1/4" product. Instructions state to use hot glue on every 5th wrap, I chose to use white glue on every wrap. Took several days with 3 hours of clamping to complete each post. Product wrapped tight and straight and looks good. I was told to use gloves but didn't and my hands are fine. I cut the 100' roll in half, but it was too difficult to wrap 50' of rope around the wood core. So I cut the rope to 6' lengths and wrapped around the post until the end was in the back where the cat can''t scratch. I glued the ends of the rope, as well as the starter end of the next 6' piece. This worked much better.
