Nice tool for the price

Not sure what happened with the people that gave this a low rating but there were two main complaints I saw before I bought this:
1. The pedal control didn't work well
2. the internal drive shaft of the flex cable broke
Well, I just unboxed mine and tested it out. The pedal works fine and DOES produce variable speeds. For those of you that had a problem with this, there is an adjustment screw. The pedal is nothing more than a switch. So no problems with that.
I haven't used this for long so take this for what its worth, first, the company shipped this with an extra drive shaft in case of a break. Second, I ground down some metal bars, sharpened a knife, sanded some plastic, and used on various other surfaces. No problems, the thing works great and all my Dremel bits fit.
I did buy this bundled with some other recommended products; some grinder bits, and a stand to hang it on. I have a complaint about the recommended stand.
Whoever paired this hanging stand with this rotary tool obviously did not have the dimensions of the motor. The hook on the recommend stand was way to small and is worthless. This motor has a lot of torque and it falls right off this hook that doesn't quite get a good purchase on the hardware of the motor.
I recommend that you get this tool first, then figure out how you will hang it.
I am very satisfied with this product so far, its quiet, its strong, and it works and it was very reasonably priced when you compare to a Dremel tool at your local hardware store.
My recommendation is "buy"

Be careful

Handle can get really HOT. Be sure to keep flexible shaft as straight as possible when using the rotary tool, otherwise a lot of friction builds up inside the shaft making the handle too hot to hold.
Very powerful tool

Update: May, 2022. I have used this tool probably about 8 times now since I purchased it. As I mentioned, because of reviews I've read I used fishing reel grease to lube the cable because of breakage. Yesterday I was using the tool and the shaft broke right at the connection to the motor. I have been extremely careful with the shaft and have always extended it so there was no pressure on it from binding. Well, it broke anyway. The company I purchased this from included an additional shaft, most likely because they are aware of the problem. I will be contacting them to find out what to expect from the new shaft and future support. It really is a good powerful motor and the head works well. I just hope that I won't have to be continually replacing shafts to use it.
This rotary tool is very powerful and has worked great so far. I took the flexible shaft apart and used some fishing reel grease to lube it up. I did this because of the many reviews for many of these brands that talk about the flexible shafts failing. It's a really important step in my opinion to keep these shafts healthy. It's also important not to bend the shaft at too sharp of an angle. This causes friction and resistance which can cause undue stress. My set up came with an extra internal shaft which is great in case of failure. The tool head works well and is comfortable in the hand. My foot peddle has a good range of speed but if yours doesn't I understand there is an adjustment you can do to fix that.

I am a DIYer and use this tool at least once a week and once in a while when I get the urge to carve I may use it about 2 hours at a time.
Note: I am not going to compare this to a similar tool that costs more than three times as much.
When I read all the flex shaft issues I was ready for it with Silicone grease with PTFE in it.
I removed the cable and filled it with the grease which made it very quite as well as smooth.
I needed to use it for cutting off about 40 screws from a project that I was working on. There was absolutely no issue with putting pressure on the side load. That is one of first things I noticed.
I was working on carving some handles for walking sticks and I love how much better this pencil style handle works than the standard rotary tools.
I have hundreds of bits, some standard some not. With the 3 jaw that closes down to nothing I am able to use every one that I have. I wasn't crazy about the chuck key at first but after using it for a few months now I see why they designed it the way they did. It's very easy to line up and takes very little torque to tighten it. I'm so used to the small Dremel style that this was a pleasant surprise.
They give you an extra flex shaft which is nice but still be sure to grease it.
The one drawback that I saw that on days when it's 100 degrees with very high humidity the shaft gets hot and no amount of fan air will keep it cool. However since we only get a few days like that here in Michigan that's not that big of an issue for me.
I keep this hanging over one of my work benches and I do a lot of powdercoating which creates dust in the air. while this dust is not very dangerous it does, by its very purpose adhere to anything hot. Kind of like the motor shaft is going to get when I turn it on. So for that reason I do wrap it in a plastic bag when I'm coating since the motor cooling vents are open to the world.
All in all if you really want a Foredom style tool without having to refinance the house, this is a very good choice and I am very happy with it. Plus for some reason the price today is much less than I paid only 4 months ago.

Good, but not as fast as advertised

I would have given this machine 5 stars, but I feel the manufacturer falsely advertised its max speed. I was only able to record 16,400 RPM, no where near the 30,000 RPM advertised. I have three flex shaft carvers and use them all. My WeCheer is by far a better machine, but it did cost around $ 259.00 several years ago. This machine is well worth it's price and it has good amount of torque and can use 1/4" shank bits. I have been using this machine for several weeks and would recommend it as long as you really don't need the extra RPMs. When I need the speed, I use my WeCheer which maxed out around 27,000 RPMs.
