Good Enough...

This is not the first "pet proof" TP holder I ordered. I wanted a recessed-in-the-wall holder pretty much like I have, but with the hinged weighted lid that rests on top of the roll. I returned it for 2 reasons:
1. The larger Charmin roll we use would not fit. Charmin makes (or at least used to) an offset spindle that lets their larger roll protrude further from the holder. Using this allows the larger roll to fit (tightly) in the pet-proof holder,
2. It sorta worked, but it protruded so far out that little or no pet protection was provided. Didn't solve the original problem.
The JunSun holder was not my first choice. If I used it, I was going to have a hole in the wall to patch (doing some renov. work in the bathroom anyway, so this is a #6 problem instead of a #9 or 10); but it looked like it was going to be very obtrusive being surface mounted to the wall. Kind of like a bazooka...but
The larger TP roll DID FIT with no special adjustments, and no spindle at all. And once it was installed (damned easy to install), it actually looked ok. More like a hood ornament than a bazooka. So I'm ok with the looks of it.
So why not 5 stars? Its not quite what you would call "flimsy", but it certainly is not heavy duty either. It is not totally solid on the wall, just from the give of the metal and the hinged lid. I understand that heavying things up would make it less competitively priced, but I would pay the difference. The commercial grade stainless steel toilet accessories are solidly made and bullet proof, and you probably pay twice what the JunSun costs. Its worth it.
But as the title says, its "Good Enough" and I recommend it.

Cat proof (so far)

Notice that reviews are intermingled below for both styles in this listing, recessed and "round"(covered) holders. My review is for the "Round" option, the covered or enclosed style with no roller.
A few weeks ago, my kitten discovered the toilet paper hanging on its roller, grabbed the end of the paper, and turned half a roll of TP into a pile on the floor. That incident spurred me to compare enclosed toilet roll holders and to buy the SunJun holder, with its high ratings and low prices.
The enclosed holder has "cat proofed" the toilet paper roll, and I am very satisfied. In fact i prefer this holder over the common roller style. To my surprise, changing the toilet paper is faster. There's no need to take the old roll off and put the new roll on the roller because there is no roller. Somehow changing the toilet paper SEEMS like no trouble now! Because of the enclosure, the holder uses more space than the old one. IMO, the most significant difference is that it extends out further from the wall. While that was no problem for where I needed to install it, you may want to check how it will fit in your space.
One reviewer said that "it's a pain to have to lift up the top to get out the toilet paper every time" --but that isn't so! Refer to the photos shown in the seller's listing/description. Three of the photos show the lid/top is closed, but the paper sticks out since the cover doesn't close all the way. Just pull out the paper.
IMPORTANT! Another reviewer, M. Downey, posted in Nov "˜18 that "friction...causes the TP to break off when trying to pull it through the slot." Hmmm, wonder why I haven't had that problem, especially since I buy off brand, "cheap" toilet paper. Wait, in a later update, Downey wrote that friction occurred when placing the roll so that the tp feeds over the top. Repositioning the roll to feed from the bottom avoids that issue. And the issue likely with affect most customers since surveys show the majority of North Americans prefer the "over the top" orientation. As it turns out, I switched long ago from over the top to "under from the bottom," which is a trick that (some) parents of toddlers know, as well as pet owners (reduced risk of unraveling the whole roll).

Almost Perfect - Update: After Three Months, We're Loving It

We have a dog that will not leave the TP alone (and cats that need to get to the litter box in the bathroom, so we cannot keep the door shut). This holder is more convenient than portable dispenser we've been using due to being able to place it where it is easier to reach.
I love the look of this unit compared to others of similar function available. The rest have a more industrial look and mostly remind me of something you'd find a public bathroom. Nothing wrong with that but it's not my preferred style. This one is a better match for our decor.
So, 5-stars for look and durability (it did not break when it fell after I put it up with 3M tape to see if that is where we wanted it - first photo) However, there's a few things which have caused me to deduct one star.
1 - It sticks out so far that we are not able to place it next to the toilet where our other holder is located. It was obvious it would be in the way of our legs so we didn't even attempt to mount it there. And we don't want to go higher on the wall.
2 - It does not hold mega-sized rolls of TP. Not that big of a deal except our stock of TP is all mega. So, until our stock runs out, we'll just removed the first 30 sheets or so to make the rolls fit.
3 - There is no inside bar to suspend the TP roll as there normally is. Therefore, the weight of the roll sits directly on the floor of the holder. This creates friction and causes the TP to break off when trying to pull it through the slot, so the lid has to be lifted to get the TP out in longer sections. Also, if the cardboard on the inside of roll is slightly misshaped, it effects the outer shape of the roll. Misshapen rolls do not spin as well, so they need to be reworked to be as round as possible.
For now, we are leaving the holder sitting on the edge of the tub (second photo) to support the weight of it, and using a piece of 3M double-sided sticky tape to stabilize it. Making holes in tile is a big decision, so we want to use this for at least a month or two prior to deciding if we like it enough to actually drill holes into our tile for permanent mounting.
Suggestions for future production are, since this holder is already rather big, go ahead and increase the size just a bit more to accommodate mega rolls and add in the holder bar which would make pulling the TP through the slot more smooth.
Overall, we are still very pleased with this purchase and recommend it to others who have issues with pets getting into the TP.
THREE MONTH UPDATE: We really like this holder. Turns out, it's just fine where it's at on the tub, so we've left it there and are happy with that placement. We also discovered, if the roll is placed into the holder so that it feeds from the bottom of the roll, instead of over the top of the roll, there's much less friction so the sheets are not breaking off anymore. Lastly, we are still using the mega rolls. We go through the extra sheets pretty fast, so within a day, the mega roll has had enough used to fit within the holder.
Would we buy this again now that we've used it for a while? Absolutely!

Once you use the double, triple size roll down, the product works great.
Tipos to offset some complaints,,,

Ok, I bought this interesting item months ago so I would not normally have to touch the paper roll, to roll sheets out, and it works most of the time...
This item listing had/has the best orientation in the picture. Another one had a picture of the item upside down.
This items construction seems sturdy to me.
Insert the roll to feed from the bottom, which when you pull up to roll paper out, friction is reduced (this surely solves those reviews asking for a roller inside - not needed). This also helps when starting a Mega roll that is a little too big like Northern Mega, since due to covid-19 , Mega seems to be all that Walmart sells, or you can get the family rolls at "Dollar" stores or some other grocery stores.
When having inserted a new Mega roll, pull up to dispense, even with both hands, then tear down quickly, and after a few rounds, the roll will be small enough. Also, squeeze the roll before inserting, trying to make it as truly round as possible, since rolls purchased are usually out of round from shipping/handling.
And when tearing, try to make sure the perforation is just outside the lid, or if you don't want any to show, right on the perf, etc. After the roll is easy to pull up on, practice downward tearing force on one side, so the roll won't feed out due to your tearing yank (if you are using one hand). LOL
And, mount the device high enough, and away from shelves or toilets, so that animals can't reach it, or even jump to it if possible, and never let kids or animals see you load or unroll - they are watching!
I used a couple of larger screws to screw straight into drywall where I had removed a towel ring, so it can be put back with nothing showing in the future, when I move, or if I didn't like it. Over several months, it has gotten a little loose, but anchors should hold it fine, but get a couple of thin flat washers, larger than the screws, to put between this device, and the wall, which should give stability when tightened down.
I spent years making comments about reviews, to help people, in years passed, and you could have commented questions about this review, but a couple of years ago, Amazon not only stopped comments on reviews, but they also removed all the existing comments on reviews - major destruction of man-months/years of a huge number of people's, including my, work. Oh, well. Hope yiou don't have any questions. Good luck!
