Operation of the sleep mode is fine except that the segments are not in numerical order, which would have been more intuitive. Prefer the volume control be on top instead of along the side. Otherwise, the sound quality is very good and the various settings easy to understand and operate.

This purchase required a lot of research as I'm doing my best to buy products made in the U.S.A. and boycott China. Not easy for an electronics purchase. I purchased a Sangean hand held portable radio, the clock radio, and table top unit for my living room. All have great sound and were worth the money. Boycott China!

good clock radio with smart features

This clock radio has a good looking amber-colored front display and user-friendly controls. The size is good, about 8"w x 6"d x 2"h. Sound quality for strong stations is very good. There are five pre-set stations for AM and 5 for FM. AM reception in my location is fair, there is static on the stations I like. FM reception on most stations is better, ranging from extremely clear to some static. There is a NAP feature that will turn on radio after setting duration of nap time and a SLEEP button that will turn off the radio after setting the sleep time. There are two alarms that let you set alarms for single use, weekdays only, weekends only, or 7-days-a week. The alarm can be a buzzer or a pre-set radio station. Once the alarm triggers, the sound gradually increases from very quiet to the volume that you set. Be aware that if you set an alarm to wake you with a radio station and the station has a weak signal at the time the alarm goes off, the alarm will not play the station but automatically switch to the buzzer....hence the "smart feature" in the headline.
