I bought this to put in the bottom of a dutch oven for pot roasting. By their posted diameter measurement, it was going to be a close fit; however it doesn't fit because the pot is out of round and unfortunately, I took its ID measurement across only one cross-diameter point. The rack is round, but just a tad larger than advertised. So, a calculated close fit becomes a NO-GO situation. Also, it is not flat by a long shot. It has a serious crown built in to it. Not a real problem for a rack used for a pot roasting insert or an open roasting operation, but looks like it would be for a canning operation. Further it really is too short for an insert given my pot roasting technique. I will keep it for an open roasting rack as it is very sturdy and made of great heat resistant material. Just a word to the wise shopper.
