It works like this: when the hot, moisture laden air from the compressor hits the cold metal pipes, the vapor turns to water where it can be easily removed by the separator.

• •1/2" Moisture Metal Piping Kit - Everything you need to mount on the wall of your shop (less mounting hardware). Stops most water from getting into your air hose and eventually your abrasive blaster or paint spray gun. To remove moisture, open drain valve and/or petcock on bottom of Water Separator.
• •This Metal Air Line Piping Kit is preconfigured to make your setup simple. "Even if you don't use metal piping, you can still use this kit in your shop. By running your air hose into the top inlet portion of piping kit, the 'U' piping will aid in moisture removal, along with the water separator."
