I have now purchased this several times. I'm using as "maintenance" on my kitchen sink (with disposal), that has clogged up several times, beyond the reach of any local pro's snake. Sink was totally stopped and I used about a half cup, three times, over 24 hours, let stand and finally clog cleared. I've also been maintaining with baking soda, vinegar and boiling water and have been fine for weeks now. I know may not be as ecological as I would like to be - but it may be this or digging up my front yard!!!

If you're serious about having clean, odor free drains, this is the product you want. You can hear it working on all the gunk stuck in the P-Trap. I use this in all my household drains every six months, whether they need it or not. Never have clogs, ever !

This product works quite well for clearing my kitchen and bathroom sinks which I use 1-2 times a year. I reside in a 1955 home that still has it's original galvanized steel and iron drainage pipes, so I consider myself lucky I have not had to replace them yet. It is important to wear chemical safe gloves and eye protection when using this product as it does splatter as it initially contacts water. I'm still somewhat concerned about environmental safety, but all the other "safe" products did not solve my drainage issue. This is my third purchase on Amazon of this product using different sellers each time. This particular seller currently offers the best value for this product. My first purchase of this product was one bottle for ten dollars including shipping, so getting three for this price with shipping is quite a bargain.

We had a drain clearing service clean a 2" sink line in or bathroom and they broke off the cleaning cutter from the end of the cable in the pipe. They estimated $2500 to tear up the slab and get cutter out. Since only soapy water and toothpaste water go down down that drain, I used Pure lye on it and it works fine. About every 6 to 8 months the drain will clog and I use the product again. I also use it on the washing machine drain that sometimes gets clogged with lint. That was always a difficult drain to snake and now I just use Pure Lye without having to move the washer..

First of all -- Be Careful -- with this product and any other product that may cause you harm. After my main line was cleaned, my secondary line from the kitchen and utility wash room plugged up. By using the LYE as recommended and being patient it really cleaned my lines. At first it backed up and the floor in the wash room was close to causing a very big problem. I caught it in the nick of time. I did buy a sump pump because of the back up, but without the LYE - I would have had to call a drain cleaning outfit and more wasted bucks. I now use Rid-X and Very Hot water I use it every two weeks and the main line and secondary line have been running much, much better. I've timed it and it flows between 2 - 3 minutes faster since and I sleep much better.
