We have usually bought Italian or French chestnuts. It turns out these are Chinese and have very little flavor. I would not buy them again. We put most of them into the compost.
I will also note that I ordered them with two day Prime shipping and they didn't get shipped for two days and thus delivery was four days after the order.

Cant Stop Eating These

So earthy and yummy, love roasted chestnuts but such a pain to peel. Received my 12pk 3 days ago, down to 6pk as of right now. these are ridiculously awesome :),
These chestnuts are unlike any other nuts that I've ever eaten

I really wish that I didn't need to assign a star rating to this item because this was my only experience with pre-roasted-and-peeled chestnuts, and somebody who actually knows something about them from other sources might find them to be either wonderful or terrible. And to make things worse, I was told that I'm the "first to review this product". Sigh . . .
My reasons for ordering them were curiosity and the fact that I like almost all nuts. I was guessing at the time that I placed the order that they'd be similar to other roasted nuts -- maybe like large hazelnuts, which the exterior sorta resembles. But no -- these were moist and soft. However . . . maybe that's what they're SUPPOSED to be like? I mean (for example), I genuinely like an Asian fruit called "durian" despite the fact that most Americans seem to find them stomach-turning. Maybe the same situation here (but with me being a non-fan)?
They looked fine in appearance, and the taste was acceptable enough that I'll finish eating them eventually (i.e. they didn't seem to be spoiled). But I won't be re-ordering them. And in the event that genuine chestnut-lovers deem them to be fine, then my only grievance would be the claim that they're "Great for snacking" (which seems like a bit of a stretch, under the circumstances).
UPDATE: I liked the second bag better than the first, and also found that another (seemingly-more-knowledgeable) review was submitted that gave it 5 stars, So I upped my own rating by 1 star.
