This automatic waterer works great for my automatic gravity water system for cats in my cattery. Could be better if it was coming with the hose included though. The regular garden hose won't fit and water supply hoses doesn't come with the right size female end neither. But not a big deal, I was able to find the way around :)
On a side note, I've bought another more expensive same type waterer with a brass valve and a hose included, but that didn't work for my specific protect due to valve is a pressure control type. Water from the bucket didn't have enough pressure to pass through the valve.

I've had these kinds of bowls for years. The only issue is you need the right hose parts. Once you get those adjusted, it's works great!
If you have hard water like on anything, it will leave a hard water line. But just clean every month with vinegar.

Was easy to install and the dish seemed sturdy. During installation (on fence between pigs and horse pasture), I noted that the plastic threaded piece and about 6" of the garden hose are inside the pig side of the fence, before going through fence to the other side (safer). I was right. The pigs must have chewed on this small section, broke it and I had hose flooding the pasture for probably a couple hours. Fortunately, it was the brass adapter that converts to a garden hose connection that broke. Going to get a beefier l-shaped one so that the hose can go directly out of back, as pigs chew on EVERYTHING.

I have been purchasing these same type of Water Troughs for around 40 years. These are the lowest quality ones I've every purchased. Two were even missing bolts to hold the float guard. I still need them to replace older ones, but I know they will only last three to four years or so. My better quality ones used to last 10 to 15 years. The ones I purchases six years ago, lasted six plus years. Each time the steel is thinner and the quality cheaper.
Still would purchase them, not many other choices out there that fit my barn.

Bought this for my chickens. It works wonderfully. I did have to buy a fitting for the water hose, use Teflon tape on the treads to prevent a leak, and adjust the float for the water lever. All were easy to handle and the final product is clean fresh water in 100+* heat. Well worth every penny.
