Great addition to securing my Blink XT Camera outside my front door. The flimsy bracket that came with the Blink lasted not even a year outside. It cracked and tumbling down came my camera. Luckily it was not damaged. When I saw this completely enclosed wall mount with a metal attachment, I knew this would be a much more secure way to attach my Blink camera. Installation was a snap, place your camera in the front bracket enclosure, put on the back enclosure and screw them together with the screws and screwdriver enclosed. Then attach the mounting bracket ( screws ALSO included) to the wood around my front door and screw the enclosure to the bracket. Very well engineered. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was the Blink XT camera felt loose in the enclosure so I took it apart and placed some cardboard on the back of the camera then screwed everything back again. Possibly a piece of foam attached to the back enclosure could be added to avoid this issue. Also the screwdriver enclosed, which was a nice touch, apparently had issues tightening up the screws. It was hard to tell if the metal end was slipping in the handle of the screwdriver, but not a biggie because I just used a screwdriver I had at home and everything screwed in nicely. DEFINITELY a MUST BUY if you have a Blink XT camera

I have a Blink XT on the back of my house and always thought how easy it would be in an open access area to just pop it out of the bracket.

When I got another to install alone the side of the house to monitor some windows that are blocked from view by a privacy fence I didn't want someone to just come along and take it, as it's from an easily accessible area. Looked for options and found this and it perfectly suits my needs.

You insert the camera into the case and secure it with five small screws (they even provide the correct size screwdriver). Then you screw the entire fixture into a wall or fence. Obviously you need to unscrew the case when you replace the batteries but the screws are good quality and didn't have any stripping at all when I installed them. Will gladly exchange this small extra step when replacing batteries for the security of this mounting bracket.

Was able to adjust it to exactly the view I want, another improvement over the mount included with the Blink XT camera. For the modest price this is a great Blink accessory.

I purchased this hooded mount for the Blink XT around mid May 2018, in the backyard of my mother's house. I came to discover this mount through the awesome community forums on the Blink for home website. During my short time as a Blink customer I was overcome with mixed emotions of the prospect of providing affordable video security to my mother who lives alone. One one hand we are new to video security and were overjoyed with the video and build quality of the Blink XT camera and the robustness of the mobile app. However, on the other hand, anyone who has purchased the Blink XT camera would be equally disappointed with the lack of articulation of the included mount. What comes in the box is merely a hinge joint that simply flexes like one ones own elbow effectively restricting an otherwise great product. The DG-Direct Blink XT Camera Wall Mount Bracket is the bracket that should have come included with the purchase from Blink. What you get in the package is a case for further protection and a mount that is not an to a shoulder joint allowing for a much higher range of motion. The case comes in two pieces that sandwich together and fasten by screws, which when assembled has an adorable little baseball cap that act as a rain hood. Furthermore, the assembled case forms around the camera with a small hole near the bottom. For what purpose you may ask. Well, this will allow those wishing to run power over USB to the camera.

I really like the Blink XT system I purchased but was very disappointed in the cheap and flimsy mount that came with it. That might be fine for indoors but for an outside security camera it was the weakest link in the system. I could see someone coming in fast from out of range, jumping up and just pulling the camera off of the mount and tossing it aside. Not even enough time to record an image.

But with this mount that is not going to happen. It is very secure and much easier to adjust the direction of the camera.

The casing is quite nice and has a sun shield on the top to help shade the lens. I don't need it on my porches but it is a great feature. The casing fits over the camera and there is a port on the bottom to run a cable if you are hard wiring your cameras. I use a battery. While it will be harder to change the battery with this new mount the battery is supposed to last for two years so that is hardly a minus.

The case screws on with five small screws. Seven are included so extra points for including extra screws. They are tiny and a small screwdriver is included. It was a bit tricky to get them screwed down as they are so small and my eyes aren't as young as they used to be. But not what I would call difficult.

The casing attaches to the stem of the mount much more securely than the original mount that came with the camera. That was basically a plastic ring the camera snapped into. With the new casing, you screw the stem onto the casing, then lock it down by twisting a ring. It would take someone time to undo this and take the camera off the mounting. There is an adjustable collar at the base of the stem that allows you to tighten and loosen it for adjusting the direction of the camera. Three sturdy screws mount it to the surface. Four screws are included. Again, extra points for extra screws. I appreciate having an extra screw or two including in anything I buy as it is easy to drop and lose one and screws are so cheap including an extra one should be no problem for anything of quality. There are also screw sleeves for dry wall mounting if this in an indoor application.

All in all I can't praise this system enough. Blink should contact the designer and contract to include this mounting system with all of their XT outdoor cameras. It is far superior to the small little mounts they use for their indoor systems. Those are simply not adequate for outdoor security. This mount is.

I ordered these late last week after searching for a replacement mount/bracket for my external Blink XT cameras. The mount that comes with them are very flimsy and hard to get in the correct orientation. These are more like the mounts you would find with a professional camera solution. Upon receiving the box, I was impressed with the quality of the packaging and the contents. There were no instructions, besides an illustration on the side of the box. Upon opening I found the following:

Qty. 3 Camera Holders (Front and Rear Plates)
Qty. 3 Wall Mounts
Qty. 3 Packages of Wall Mount Screws and Anchors (4 screws and anchors in a package, so one extra as a bonus)
Qty. 3 Packages of screws for plates and a mini screw driver (again an extra screw is provided).

Setup was simple, and i no time i had them mounted in place of one of my cameras. Overall this was an excellent buy, and provides for a better overall mounting experience. Gives much more freedom in orientation and holds the camera very secure. This is what the cameras should have had initially. I only have a few complaints (cons below), that if those are addressed, this would be a perfect product (as it is now, it is a very very good upgrade).

Pros:
1.) More Secure than other Mount
2.) More flexibility and Range of Motion
3.) Excellent Quality
4.) Great Packaging

Cons:
1.) Seems to be a little slop of the camera inside the mount. Some foam tape inside to hold it when compressed together would be perfect.
2.) More difficult to get to the batteries. An easier mechanism for opening the two halves would be ideal (have to remove 5 screws).
3.) Wall mount screws seem to be a little soft (one rounded during install).
