These tubes are great for freezer storage of pre-weighed espresso coffee beans. One tube easily holds 15 grams of beans which is precisely the weight needed for a standard "double" espresso shot. I weigh out my beans, fill several tubes and then store them in the freezer. When I am ready to pull a shot, I pour the contents of one tube into the grinder and grind right into a portafilter. My hold-up in the grinder is very small and consistent, so my pull times for a standard double are also very consistent.

freezing coffee beans

In addition to my regular coffee, I keep some decaf beans around for guests, but because they are only occasionally used, I wanted to freeze them to keep them from getting stale. Itis not a good idea to freeze coffee unless done in a way that completely protects them from moisture in the air. Following advice I found on the internet, I bought these to hold the beans. I turns out that the 50 ml size holds the perfect amount for one cup of coffee, and the 25 tubes will hold about one pound total. The beans in each tube remain as fresh as the day I bought them, and grinding the beans while they are still frozen produces a more even grind. The tubes and their caps arrived intact, and I'm very pleased with the purchase.
