After extensive research on a black hobo bag I could use everyday, I went with an old favorite "” Steve Madden. This bag is stylish and made well, the embellishment doesn't look cheap at all.
I have somewhat large arms (size 2X) so I was most concerned that the strap would be too short to keep the bag on my shoulder, but it sits JUST right on me. And it's comfortable underneath my arm. A larger person would have difficulty holding this bag, though.
The inside compartments are exactly what I was looking for, too "” open, except one zippered pocket in the middle. That's great for easily grabbing what I need out of my purse without fooling around with a zipper. The amount of pockets are adequate, too. Two main compartments and the zippered compartment inside, and two pockets on the outside (for your phone or the like).
I'm glad I took the chance on this with no reviews. It's a smaller hobo so just be sure the dimensions are right for you.

This is by far the best style around. I'm buying this for the second time because I use them for every day and goes from business to casual in a heartbeat. I have one in gray, one smaller one in black (The Sammy) and this would be my second black one. This is my to go purse. I use it without the long strap to it holds close to my body and the wide short strap is very stylish. Don't know what I will do when they don't make this style anymore but they should because they look stylish and classic

SM makes several handbags in this BB line, a very small one (Sammy) and a bigger tote (two handles) than this mid-sized shoulder bag. The brown version is slightly different with interior pockets and the attached inner bag. Just because the branding is pasted all over the bag doesn't mean it is not real. It is a federal crime to sell counterfeit goods and I don't see that being the issue here. Please read the description before ordering, note the size details of the bag. I saw this bag at Macy's (retail) and passed and I am glad I did because it was a steal from Amazon
