Microwave started arcing for no reason. A quick google search suggested it was a damaged wave guide. Took off the old one, traced it onto one of these new ones (and I wasn't worried about screwing it up because this came with 4 replacement parts), cut it out and popped it back in.
Took 10 minutes and my microwave was fixed for about $6. Don't throw away a good microwave - just fix it! Hardest part was finding a small punch to accommodate the mounting hardware.

These are a perfect fix for my six year old microwave. It works like brand new afterwards. Easy to cut with scissors (be careful as mica can be easy to brake too much and you need close to the exact fit for your microwave to work). Lot better than buying a microwave and since you only need one, I have extras incase I messed up while cutting and for the next time my microwave gets too dirty.

Let me tell you if you've ever thrown out a microwave because it started arcing don't do it again. You can fix it yourself for less than $10. I looked it up online on one of those video channels....I don't know if I'm supposed to mention that. They give you great instructions. I hesitated for the longest time thinking I couldn't do it. Well, I finally got around to it and man, I am so pleased with myself I brag every time someone uses my microwave now. You can too. It's so easy to replace this little piece you won't believe it. Measure to make sure you get the right size. You make sure to watch the video on that channel. Hey, I'm 68 years old and I didn't think I could do it. If I can so can you! I'm ready to tackle more electronic projects.
