I purchased this mount for my 26-lb thrust Minn Kota trolling motor. The mount fits behind the rear seat of my 17-foot Grumman canoe. I was using a home-made mount created from 2x4s, but the flex in my DIY mount was worrying. As others have said the wing nuts for the mounting bolts don't seem to fit tight enough into the V brackets. A couple of washers from the hardware store should fix that. I am using the bolt upside down in the meantime.
Unlike others, I did not have to drill additional holes to get the mount to fit. The outside holes worked perfectly for me. The holes are 1 foot apart.
