This is a highly filtered walnut oil. It is food safe, and you can buy it as a salad dressing in the market, but not as filtered. It is perfect for refreshing cutting boards, wooden spoons, forks, bowls, rolling pins etc, BECAUSE it hardens on the outside, so it does not leave an oily film. It can be refreshed just by wiping clean, and re-applying a fresh coat. It is an amazing product.

Recommended to me by a very well known carver, I have found this product to be everything I was told it was. I "whittle" basswood into pieces including cowboys, old world Santa's, and many other items and I needed to replace the expensive product I was previously using to treat the wood before painting with washed acrylics. This walnut oil is 1/3 the price per ounce and works as good or even better than what I was using. I do not think you will be disappointed.
