A Fun, Fast Swim

Several years ago, I bought a Finis Wave monofin and HATED it. The speed wasn't there, the core workout was a little *too* intense for someone as soft and squishy as me, and with weak ankles I felt like my feet were going to pop off. The drag on the paddle-shaped fin itself was also rather immense. You couldn't let yourself coast in the water, because the fin would inevitably slow you down. I considered reshaping g the fin to make it more efficient and easier to use, but ultimately realized it would be better to just send it back.

Cut to this year when I decided to go for broke and get the Linden monofin. I was very hesitant after my painful experience with the Finis, but I also figured if it was that bad, I could send it back. We'll, thankfully that will not be happening, because this is the best monofin I have ever used.

From the first kick, you can tell that this design has been well drawn and constructed. Without the massive paddle attached to your feet, you can kick with quite a bit more force than what you might be able to accomplish with the Finis, and as such manage quite a bit more speed from the drop. I expected to move quickly through the water, I did *not* expect to be sprinting through the water so fast I had to squint my eyes to prevent them being thrown open. You wont be keeping up with any sea-creatures, I'm not going to sit here and oversell, but you will be moving quickly - much faster than I ever managed on the Wave. There's also nowhere near as much pressure on your ankles because of the shape of the fin itself, which does not need to displace and entire claw-foot tub of water to move you an inch forward. I can see a fes weak points in the design, but it's a $60 monofin, am I going to complain about those?

Comfort is top notch. I swam with this fin fir several hours, WITHOUT the booties, and only managed to develop some redness on the top of my toes at the very end of the day. These near-blisters were gone by the the next morning. I didn't even really notice them. The fin has a Neoprene backing to the ankle strap, preventing blisters from forming where you'd expect them to, and the neoprene booties will help prevent any blisters at all if they're used. Personally, I don't need them to fit this fin, and found that if I tried to use them I ended up feeling like it was slipping off my feet. But, I also noticed that due to a knee surgery a decade ago, my left leg is a bit short, so my kick pulls to the left a little. All I had to do was add a bootie, and it was corrected. Now the fin *does* still come right off the foot, so the ankle issue isn't *completely* resolved, but again I wore this thing off and on from 12pm to 5pm, shared it with others, and no one complained about pain. This is an extremely comfortable fin.

The speed on this thing is ridiculous, and the swimability is perfect. With a few good kicks I was off the lake shore and to the end of the docks. A few more and I was 20 feet down, lurking in the weeds and watching fish swim by me. Kick, kick, kick, kick, and surface in just a few seconds. When I wanted more speed, I started tucking my head under my arms proper dolphin-kick style, and good lord I was MOVING. I'm positive there will be faster monofins out there, but for the money this one cannot be beat. I mean I swam up to a passing boat in this thing, and had people screaming, excited to see a "merman" at the lake, and taking pictures. This fin MOVES.

Overall, I'm beyond pleased with this thing. I got to have an amazing day, I got to share my joy with some, and bring joy to others. And it's all thanks to my Linden monofin. Thank you for helping make my old merman dreams come a little more true.
Lightweight beginner monofin

This was my first monofin and I'm glad I got it. It's easy to get on and off, provides good propulsion, lightweight, and fits the Mertailor Guppy Tail. I rocket through the water with it, and it's even faster with the tail.
It is a little bulky through the ankles, but definitely worth the price.
Very fun to swim with.

Great quality and very fun to swim with. My only issue is my feet keep slipping out while swimming and i have to constantly adjust the straps tighter. Also you will get blisters if you wear it too long.
I love this fin

This monofin is perfect and fits my Finfolk production tail wonderfully! The image I have attached is me wearing the tail with the monofin inside :)
Love it!

It takes a while to get used to, but swimming with it is so much fun! My pool isn't very deep, so it keeps scraping against the bottom of it.
Easy to put on, and easy to unbuckle, even if you're in the water.
