After nearly getting cut using a common utility knife when the blade came most of the way out instead of retracting, I searched for a safer one. This is it! The Blade is always retracted while not in use unless the blade lock is used to keep the blade extended. It's virtually child proof because it takes an adult size hand to extend the blade. Plus the blade can be locked when retracted to further reduce the ability of a child to extend the blade.
It's smaller and definitely heave duty. Holds 2 blades in the handle. Even blade access is child proof. Love it
