The zoo has a large version of this to collect funds and our LO loves it. She's a bit of a collector and loves her random coin collection. Figured this would be a hit and I was right. It works great for all sizes of coins, and keeps her occupied. So, yay dad for the win.
I will agree with other comments that the arm seems a tad fragile for younger kids. I foresee needing to fix it when some random toy is bounced off it. That part, at least, could have been designed a bit better. It's not that it's flimsy. It mounts pretty solidly and an older child that will use it as intended will probably never have a problem. Although it's all well made and pretty solid (more solid than I expected from reading other reviews), I expect our 4 yo will manhandle or mishandle it enough to snap off the arm eventually.

I bought this for my 4 year old son and the whole family enjoys it. Anytime I get change I can't wait to give it to the kids to put in this bank. Sometimes they will just dump out the change and put it back in just to watch the money spiral down. It's very entertaining. I will say however, don't buy for small kids because its not super durable. We keep ours out of reach until we have money and once they are done I put it back up. I plan on buying it for my kids friends and cousins because it's such a great and different gift idea!
