I did not buy this for my garden. I have cats that like to lay on top of the tower of my computer. Unfortunately, the top is where the hot air is exhausted by my case. When they lay there, the temperature in my system rises dramatically, I finally decided to do something about it when one night while deep in concentration on a project, I noticed my system getting unstable. I then noticed my cat was sprawled across the top and all the fans were going full throttle. At first, I tried double sided tape which the Internet assured me would discourage the cat from climbing on there. All I ended up with was sticky strips of fur within a day. Enter this spike mat. I measured and cut to fit a portion that would cover the majority of the top of the PC. After some prep work (mentioned below), I used zip ties to secure it to the top of the case. Within the hour, a cat came to climb up there, saw the mat, put one paw up there, then turned and walked away. It seems like this is going to help keep my system cool. A big advantage that this mat is mostly open mesh, so it does not obstruct any of the airflow. As can be seen in the accompanying photo, it should save on the amount of cat hair stuck it is as well. Overall I am very pleased with this purchase and have plenty left over to try to cat proof other areas should the need arise.

I took off one star only because of the way this product is delivered, it cannot be used immediately. Having been rolled after being manufactured, it seems to hold this curved shape and refused to stay flat. I recalled reading another review about heating it up and took the piece I'd cut, placed it on a cookie sheet, then placed a heavy pot on top of that to keep it flat. I then put this in the oven for a few minutes to allow the plastic to soften a bit. I likely kept it in a tad too long, but as soon as the edges because to curl/melt a bit I took it out and let it cool. It firmed back up and stayed perfectly straight.

I used to have an issue where street cats would vomit, cough up hairballs, and on some occasions, even defecate on the hood of my car"¦ I felt humiliated, defeated, and even targeted at times. I couldn't take it anymore. I bought this product, set it out on the hood of my car, and like magic - I never had any issues with them anymore. After a couple weeks I think the cats got the idea.

The spikes are made of a plastic and rubber material. It didn't scratch my car's paint when laid directly on it but if you want you could consider putting a mat or tarp underneath to protect your cars surface.

This worked great for me. You just have to remember to roll it out on your car after you're done driving for the day. Worth trying out!

The product has done a great job of keeping my two cats out of the pot despite them being very tricky, smart, hard working, and dedicated to killing that plant by drowning it in urine.

The trick is not to simply lay it down in the pot but to cut out wedges out of one side, fold the top in on itself (making a cone shape) and the zip-tie-ing it to itself. It takes a bit of work to set up (don't forget to put it around your plan before the zip-ties), but it's worth the kitty-proof fortress you end up with. Your plants will thank you. Now wish me luck in flushing out the urine"¦

This product works...!!! We had to purchase an adjustable bed, not even thinking about our cat and the consequences of him going under the bed where all the electronics are housed..... We started putting boxes of every size, pillows, even made a wooden frame to surround the bed to try and keep him out.... But there are too many moving parts creating even more space for him to get under the bed... It's been a nightmare... Saw this product on line and decided to give it a try..... It's only been under the bed for 48 hours and the cat is totally perplexed. Stepped on it once and he went down like a crippled horse, broke ours hearts to witness, but he hasn't stepped on it since, just keeps peeking under the bed... We've had major success so far, unless he's willing to try that painful experience again, I think we've solved the problem.

Well, my cat is a demon and just walks on this like its nothing but....I will say this stuff is very spikey and was hard to unroll and attach to "no cat" areas. I could see it working for other pet owners or maybe some other weird things you could do with it.
