Was suprised

For a long time I was wanting to learn to play the Oboe but was nervous trying to find one that would be a good fit. I didn't really want to buy a used one and most professional one's were very expensive new. When I found this one on Amazon I was worried that it wouldn't be that good of an instrument but I was pleasantly surprised. This Oboe was worth the money paid. It came in great shape and was able to be played right out of the box, something many oboes can't do. I felt that the key mechanism was more sturdy than some "professional" instruments I played around with at the music store. This lead me to feel that I wouldn't have to take this in to be adjusted as often as others. The tone isn't as warm as it could be if the body was made from wood but that's where they were able to keep the price down. It's still a beautiful and rich tone. I also feel that the durability is great for kids learning to play in school, this could take a few drops without having to pay someone a lot of money to fix. Sadly I decided to switch to playing the flute instead but if anytime in the future I want to pick the oboe back up this is going to be my go to to start!
Great for the price

Definitely not professional but great for someone starting or wanting to pick it up as a hobby without breaking the bank. Played right out of the box. The reed that came with it was WAY too hard. I recommend shaving it with a razor if you know how, or order some different ones along with it.
