The best thing about this book is Mary's voice. She is articualte and knows more about ditation than the techs that created Dragon. Her 30 plus years of experience helps guide the reader along. She answers questions as they arise. The book lead me to the conclusion that i needed a new microphone and it helped me set up a profile that made few textual mistakes.
The book is a great edition for any voice to text dictator to have on their bookshelf. It is a go to reference guide that is very much needed in this high speed world of ours.

I felt like an idiot trying to figure out speech to text. It was so very frustrating. Then I started reading this book. I love how the author explains so much and in such great detail. I've come to know Mary Crawford through her many contributions to the writing world with regard to dictation software. I found her book to be detailed, but not tedious; well-researched, despite Nuance's abandonment of the Mac version of their product at press time, and a comfortable manual for reference for the writer/user who hopes that dictation will be a valued tool and not yet another learning curve to navigate.
