The Horn Pampet Mute works very well. Feel is easy and keeps pitch relatively well even in upper lower registers. For the price, compared to others, its a bargain!

Its good for getting in a buzz late at night but man does this thing mess with pitch. Its straight up a completely different feel and practicing on this for a while can really mess me up when I switch back to regular playing. Nothing too drastic but that pitch is just pretty rough but for the price point this is pretty good.

Bought this as a Christmas gift for my granddaughter who is taking lessons to learn to play the French horn. Granddaughter was happy but parents were THRILLED! Best.gift.ever! LOL! =)

This French horn mute is a great inexpensive mute that really works! I highly recommend this for travel as it enhances practice time while staying at a hotel/with family/with friends. No one is bothered by the sound of your French horn playing with this mute because it is so quiet while you play using it! I wish I could attach an audio file of me playing my French horn with it and then without it. The sound barrier it creates is amazing. I highly recommend this mute and it is well worth the money spent. P.S. it doesn't completely mute the sound I should add, you can hear yourself play, but if you shut the door to a room you cannot hear past that room because the sound absorption is so good with this mute.

I am a horn teacher and I love that this little practice mute is so affordable (and small). I don't want my students to have to spend very much on a practice mute but sometimes they need one (to work on playing louder without everyone hearing them) or because they don't want someone to hear them practicing. I also like how small and easy it is to throw in my backpack or horn case and take along with me. There are better mutes that are way more expensive, but for the price, this mute is great!
